I am grateful to share that I have been invited to join the 23rd International Festival of Making Theater in Athens, in 2027 — a gathering of artists, teachers, and seekers of the craft in the very city where theatre first took breath.

For me, Greece is a place of return, of recognition, of gentle clarity. My first visit took me to Athens Theatre of Dionyssos and the magnificent museums, and further, to the Pelion Peninsula, that mythical stretch of land where the Argonauts once set sail and the centaurs roamed the forests. My second journey led me to Leptokaria, on the quiet beach beneath Mount Olympus, on the quiet paths where one can almost hear Orpheus calling for Eurydice...

Now, a third journey awaits, one shaped not by myth but by the living practice of theatre.

Being welcomed into this festival feels like stepping into an ancient circle that has been waiting for me. I look forward to offer my workshop, shaped with care and adapted to the festival’s rhythm, and to meet colleagues from different corners of the world. There is a serene joy in knowing that one’s work will be shared in a place where Thespis once stepped forward as the earliest actor in recorded history — a lineage that still echoes in every rehearsal room, in every gesture, in every attempt to speak the truth on stage.

“Thespis was the first to step out from the chorus and speak as an actor.”   — Themistius, Oration 26

Athens awaits — with its warmth, its clarity, its ancient pulse — and I am honoured to walk once more towards that Light!
